This course provides a general introduction on how to effectively respond to COVID 19 pandemic while minimizing the spread of infection in an effort to flatten the curve.

By the end of the course, you should be able to describe how to carry out an effective response in the current COVID 19 pandemic minimizing the risk of spread to others both within and outside the healthcare setup.



Learning objective: Understand the basic principles of acute respiratory infections, assess the risk of infection and basic hygiene measures to protect against infection

Note: All personnel at risk  of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARIs) need to have the basic knowledge and skills to mount an effective response. They need to understand what ARIs are, how they are transmitted, how to assess the risk of infection and to understand basic hygiene measures to protect themselves.

How to stay safe from Covid-19

1. Wash your hands regularly

2. Maintain Social Distancing

3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

4. Practice respiratory hygiene

5. If you have fever, cough and difficulty in breathing. Seek Medical Advice immediately
